Hardwick, J. Grant
Grant is a trial lawyer. His practice centres around civil litigation, including construction, corporate, insurance and matrimonial law. Grant has almost thirty years experience appearing before trial and appellate courts in British Columbia and the Yukon.
Grant is also a trained civil Mediator. In that role, he is hired by other lawyers and their clients to assist in the cost-effective resolution of their claims. Grant uses his training and experience as a Mediator to achieve the efficient resolution of his own clients’ claims, short of actual trial where possible.
Grant graduated from the University of Saskatchewan Law School in 1973 and was called to the Bar in British Columbia in 1974, and to the Bar of the Yukon Territory in 1985. He has spent his entire thirty year career with the firm, and has been primarily responsible for managing the firm for many years.
Grant is proud to have served two terms as a Bencher for the Law Society of British Columbia. The Law Society Benchers comprise the body which oversees the professional activities of all lawyers practicing in British Columbia. He has also served as President of the Kelowna Bar Association. He is a current member of the Law Society of British Columbia and the Canadian and Kelowna Bar Associations. He has also served as an instructor to articled students in the Bar Admission Course and the Professional Legal Training Course, training law school graduates as they begin their legal careers.
Kelowna lawyer J. Grant Hardwick is an avid polo player and has held appointments in both the US Polo Association and Polo Canada. He is the proud father of 2 daughters, Kristine, who is a professional polo player, and Briana, who has recently completed her law degree.
