Peel, Cristin
Cristin is a new member to the firm’s Litigation Department. Cristin completed her articles with Doak Shirreff and was admitted to the British Columbia Bar in May 2006. In 2000, she received a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature (with distinction) from the University of Victoria. Cristin then attended Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario and obtained a Bachelor of Laws Degree in 2004.
Before beginning her articles at Doak Shirreff, Cristin completed an internship with the Community Law Centre at the University of the Western Cape in Cape Town, South Africa. She researched constitutional law issues with the Local Government Project through an internship coordinated by the Canadian International Development Agency.
While at law school, Cristin was an editor for the Queen’s Law Journal for three years, serving as a senior editor and volunteer coordinator during her final year.
Cristin strives to find practical and cost-effective solutions to her clients’ legal problems. She is particularly motivated to help underprivileged and disadvantaged people secure and access their rights and entitlements.
Cristin currently sits on the Interior Health Clinical Ethics Committee. She looks forward to becoming more involved in the many opportunities the Okanagan has to offer. When not working, Cristin enjoys travelling, reading, pottery, and dance.
